An absolute gem and one of the original hero producers to establish the glowing reputation of the region. It sits amid picturesque rolling hills, barely a 20-minute drive from the centre of Adelaide. The cellar door is located in a cosy hut at the top of the meticulously crafted vineyard with views out towards Mount Lofty and the moment you arrive you know you are on hallowed ground. You’re in the original office and cellar door where founder Stephen George used to load paper into the fax machine and boil the kettle as far back as 1982, as he steadily built a reputation for making the best pinot noir in the region. Today expect a tidily curated visit where you can taste a range driven by pinot noir and chardonnay, wines that remain among the best in the region. Perch on the deck and breathe deep the pristine air of the Adelaide Hills.
