REGULARS

Breathe Easy

When catastrophic bushfires threatened an entire vintage, these Aussie drinks-makers reached for some ingenious top-shelf solutions.

Roussanne Revival

Luckily for us, there’s a handful of Australian winemakers with the patience and persistence to work with one of the Northern Rhône’s ‘forgotten’ white grapes.

Spiritual Home

Unlike most rums, which are made from sugar by-products, agricole rum is made from the sugarcane itself.

Waltzing Matilda

Leg warmers, lycra and big hair. We were glad to see the back of ’80s fashion. But one beer from that era is a welcome sight.

Imports: Languedoc-Roussillon

Long seen as France’s home of cheap and cheerful drops, over the past two decades the reputation of wines from Languedoc-Roussillon has been on the rise. Here, Angus Hughson recommends top examples from the area.

Glass Half Full

If science is telling us to drink less wine, let’s make every bottle count.

Charlie Galbally of Pep's

Charlie Galbally’s love of wine was born from time spent around the family dinner table. Although originally from Melbourne, after landing a wine rep position in Perth, he now calls the western capital home, and has opened a neighbourhood wine bar Pep’s in Peppermint Grove.

Off The Press

Find out the latest in the wine and food world, including openings in the Barossa Valley and Sydney, along with new products from Coravin and Riedel.

Meet the Maker – Tash and Jack Weedon of Rollick Wines

You could say the tale of South Australia’s Rollick Wines is one of fate. Born just two weeks apart, delivered by the same doctor in the Barossa Valley, Tash and Jack Weedon moved away from their hometown to pursue careers in winemaking and business respectively. But then after a chance meeting, the duo have brought their own fun, energetic label Rollick Wines to life.

Wendouree 2019 Vintage Releases

The 2019 vintage is a good one for Wendouree and certainly a strong follow-up to the outstanding 2018 vintage wines. Whilst not quite reaching that same dizzying height of quality, these are indeed quite close. Nick Stock reviews the latest from Wendouree.

Stars In Our Eyes

The inaugural Star Wine List Awards Australia were held on 8 November, showcasing and acknowledging the country’s top wine lists and the teams behind them. The internationally renowned awards have been running since 2017, across the UK, US and Europe, and here at GT WINE, we were proud to be part of the first Australian edition of the awards.
