ROSÉ CHAMPAGNE

The festive season is upon us, and our expert tasting panel has reviewed a stellar line-up of rosé Champagne perfect for Christmas. Join Peter Bourne as he guides you through a tasting of the line-up on Wednesday 4 December at Sydney’s Winespace (119 Kippax St, Surry Hills) and in Orange at Ferment, The Orange Wine Centre (87 Hill St, Orange) on Monday 9 December. The Sydney tasting costs $150 and the Orange tasting, $125 – both running from 6-8pm.

JAZZ IN THE VINEYARDS

7 DECEMBER

Jazz in the Vineyards is back, with this year’s performance held in the picturesque amphitheatre at the Hunter Valley’s Hope Estate. The jazz line-up is something to get excited about and includes Aussie powerhouse Kate Ceberano and band, John Morrison’s Swing City Band featuring Jacki Cooper, and more. Gather your friends, bring a picnic rug and chair, and set yourself up for an afternoon of Hunter Valley wine, food and classic jazz surrounded by the vines.

TASTE OF TASMANIA

28 DECEMBER to 3 JANUARY

The Taste of Tasmania is Australia’s longest running food and wine festival, and is one of the biggest events on the Hobart calendar. Join local Tassie producers for a week-long summer celebration of the state’s premium food, wine, arts and music scene with a range of free and ticketed events across the harbourside city. If you’re looking for a way to spend the all important countdown, one of the many highlights of the festival is the NYE at the Taste. The event features local musicians performing favourite party classics, and local food and wine all accompanied by a perfect view of the harbour and fireworks.

ADELAIDE HILLS CRUSH FESTIVAL

24-26 JANUARY

Beat the South Aussie heat and head for the Adelaide Hills for the annual Crush Festival on the Australia Day long weekend. Taste your way through the region’s cool-climate wines with cellar doors hosting a range of exclusive tastings, long lunches and premium wine-matched dinners. TASTE GREAT SOUTHERN

26 MARCH to 5 APRIL

Held across the stunning southern coastline and country hinterland, Taste Great Southern showcases the best of the region’s food, wine, arts and culture. It’s a great opportunity to introduce yourself (if you’re not familiar already) with the wines of the Frankland River, Denmark, Albany, Porongurup and Mt Barker. During your visit, be sure to try the region’s cabernet and riesling, which pair perfectly with the locally produced beef and southern coastline oysters.
