Talisman Wines has dominated this year’s WA Boutique and Blackwood Valley Wine Shows with its seductively textured and refined 2018 Cabernet Malbec winning WA's Best Boutique Wine of the Show.

Around 300 wines were entered in the two-day event held in the historic Bridgetown Town Hall. The show caters specifically for WA's boutique producers with an annual crush of less than 250 tonnes.

This year also marked the inaugural WA Single Vineyard Wine Show, open to all wineries across the state, regardless of size. Both the White Table and Red Table Wine trophies were scooped by Talisman for its 2018 Gabrielle Chardonnay and 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec.

This prestigious win caps off an impressive year of accolades for Kim and Jenny Robinson’s boutique winery that is nestled high amongst the hills in the Ferguson Valley and has only been producing its single vineyard wines since 2009.

Judging this show was certainly a sensory revelation, with a high calibre of wines exhibited and a strong showing of alternate varieties amongst these boutique producers.

The vermentinos were fresh and vibrant, the chenin blancs were intense with great texture, and the rieslings were beautifully balanced.
