One of Australia’s iconic producers, Brokenwood in Hunter Valley is set to open a new cellar door, alongside two new dining offerings, The Wood Restaurant and Cru Bar + Pantry. The new restaurant and bar is being run by Hunter Valley stalwarts Andrew and Janet Wright, known for running The Cellar Restaurant in Hunter Valley Gardens for the past 18 years.
“This marks a significant moment in Brokenwood’s history,” said Brokenwood’s chief winemaker and managing director Iain Riggs. “Our current cellar door was built in the 70s so this new venture means a lot to us, but most importantly it will allow for more fun and exciting wine experiences for our dedicated customers.”
The new cellar door will feature circular tasting bars known as pods, an outdoor terrace, two private tasting rooms, two private dining rooms and a wine museum. It will open 7 December.
