Marty Edwards’ label is raising money for Parkinson’s research.


After 19 years as vigneron at his family’s Adelaide Hills winery The Lane, Marty Edwards has launched a new label for a cause close to his heart.

In 2012, at just 42 years of age, Edwards was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, a neurological condition with no known cure. After his diagnosis, Edwards wanted to support those with the condition and their carers – and Silver Lining Wine was born.

Silver Lining Wine is a portfolio of Adelaide Hills wines with proceeds from sales going towards Parkinson’s research in Australia. For Edwards, it was an idea driven by his passion, discipline, attention to detail and reflection on his experiences.

“Each pursuit shares the same core philosophy: a commitment to being proactive and maintaining a focus on your goal, irrespective of any obstacles that present themselves,” says Edwards. “Creating a brand from pristine fruit sourced from elite parcels in the Adelaide Hills and donating proceeds to Parkinson’s research is not only achieving a personal goal, it’s helping others on this journey.”

The range features a 2020 Sauvignon Blanc ($25), 2020 Chardonnay ($30), and a 2020 Shiraz ($35), which is set for release next year.
