Joval Wine Group – the company behind the red+white and Mezzanine Fine Wine Specialist portfolios – launched their Restaurant Revival initiative in June, supporting Australian restaurants on the back of the Covid-19 crisis. Curated by sommelier Matt Dunne, restaurantrevival.com.au is a resource-packed portal to provide venues with tools to navigate ever-changing restrictions and a changed marketplace.
“While operators might have had staff to help them in the past, we’re now seeing restaurateurs doing the job of two or three staff at once,” says Dunne. “This website ... makes it easy.” As well as helping with training and administration, Joval is donating its margins from specially curated wine packs in the form of a tip; purchasers just need to nominate the licensed restaurant they’d like the donation to go to.
